"With locations across the Midwest, most of our customers have
never heard of Amoroso Rolls, so we get a lot of questions about
them. We always respond with the truth. We tell them that where we
come from, where good sandwiches were born, Amoroso is the only way
to go. We explain that we get rolls shipped half way across the
country twice a week, because no other product will do justice to
our delicious food. I'm yet to find a better roll to go with a
great cheeseteak. Thanks Amoroso."

"The reason we started Ono Cheese Steak in Honolulu, Hawaii is
because of our development of an addiction to Philly Cheese Steaks
while living on the mainland. My family and I were first introduced
to the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich in 1997 while living in
Pleasanton, California. The sandwich became a regular meal for us
several times a week. As regulars, we began to understand that
while eating several different varieties of Philly Cheese Steaks,
the consistent ingredient to a good Philly Cheese Steak is an
Amoroso roll. We were planning on moving back to Honolulu but
needed an idea for a business in order to generate an income. While
visiting Hawaii we realized that we were not able to satisfy our
Philly Cheese Steak cravings due to the lack of an authentic Philly
Cheese Steak on the Islands. This is where the creation of Ono
Cheese Steak began.
Ono Cheese Steak started in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2005 with a
location in downtown Honolulu. Our menu consisted of three sizes of
Philly Cheese Steaks using Amoroso rolls. By using Amoroso rolls,
Ono Cheese Steak became to be known as the only restaurant in
Hawaii to serve an authentic Philly Cheese Steak. By the end of
2005 we had three locations in Honolulu including our flagship
store in Waikiki. Our Waikiki store is open 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week and having a location in one of the most beautiful vacation
destinations in the world, we were frequently visited by people
from Philadelphia. When a person from Philadelphia comes across our
restaurant they can't resist coming in and telling us that there's
no way we can serve an original Philly Cheese Steak in Hawaii. Our
response to the citizens of Philadelphia is "We use Amoroso
Rolls!!" Their eyes open larger, there's a smile from ear to ear,
we're given a thumbs up, they order a sandwich and they become a
regular customer during their vacation. Philadelphians that have
migrated to Hawaii frequent our restaurant to get their fix of
Philly Cheese Steaks and become part of the Ono Cheese Steak Ohana
(Hawaiian word for "Family"). Local residents of the Island of
Hawaii and tourists from all over the world now have an opportunity
to sample and become a fan of Philly Cheese Steaks in Waikiki,
Hawaii. In 2007, Ono Cheese Steak began to deliver Ono Philly
Cheese Steak sandwiches to convenience stores on military bases on
the Island of Oahu. This provided our East coast troops an
opportunity to get a taste of home and eased their home sickness.
Today Ono Cheese Steak delivers to 60 locations on a daily basis
and includes both military and civilian locations on the Island of
Oahu. As of July of 2009, our daily deliveries and restaurant sales
requires a daily shipment of over 2000 Amoroso rolls a day.
My name is Joey Castaneda and I am the CEO of Ono Cheese Steak.
I would like to say thank you to the Amoroso family and their staff
for a job well done and look forward to a very long business
partnership."

28 years (and counting) with Amoroso's:
"The roll is the key. It delivers the most tempting and
delicious sandwich known to man (and woman). In 1981, I walked into
Len Amoroso Jr.'s office in West Philadelphia with a simple
request, "Can you get these on a truck and get them to California?"
He answered in the affirmative, without as much as a handshake
because I was in a hurry and on the way back to the airport after
visiting suppliers, sports teams, Tastykake, and visiting with my
parents in-between. As Len told me recently, after I left he said
to himself, "This guy just came here and talked to me for five
minutes. He asked to set up distribution in California, and then he
ran out. He must be crazy."
The roll is the key, but it's been a lot more than the roll;
it's been service, trust, honesty, communication, and a great
relationship that goes beyond business-it's about doing things
right, and that's what Amoroso's does. I don't know where we'd be
without them- and now we're shipping out 70,000 (or so) rolls a
week. All these years with nary a hitch, but with the hitches
always being fixed. Another 28 anyone?"

Living in Philadelphia and South Jersey my entire life, Amoroso's
rolls were always in our kitchen at home. In November 2006 we
moved to South Florida and opened our family owned and operated
restaurant, where we serve The Best Philly Cheesesteak in
Florida! One of the major reasons we do is the help and great
bread provided by Amoroso's Baking Company in Philadelphia.
A lot of the Amoroso family has been to our restaurant and
signed our Amoroso sign we have hanging, saying we are proud to
serve the Best Italian Bread in the World! Our thanks to the
entire Amoroso family and staff for making our Philly Cheesesteak
taste the way it should.
